Supply Ontario (SO) is a provincial agency with an ambitious mandate to transform and modernize the province’s public sector supply chain management system. The Agency is aims to build world-class capability that harnesses Ontario’s buying power to enable economic development, province-wide resilience, and value for Ontarians. As the transformation face for government and the broader public sector (BPS), Supply Ontario will work across the system to build an integrated, efficient, and strategic supply chain that benefits our economy, businesses, customers, and Ontarians.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is accountable for overseeing Supply Ontario’s business operations, accountable for the strategic direction and thought leadership necessary to ensure sound decision-making, substantive expertise, process ownership and oversight that ensures the streamlining of processes, implementation of best practices, and the optimization of procurement operations to achieve maximum efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
Reporting to the CEO, the COO will collaborate with the executive leadership team to set the vision and overall procurement strategy and priorities while aligning with government objectives and policies to ensure implementation of Ontario’s procurement strategy. They will do this in collaboration with their direct reports, the Senior Vice President, Category Management, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Delivery, Vice President, Centre of Excellence and Chief Digital & Data Officer.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned executive with operations, transformation and integration experience who is comfortable with procurement and supply chain operations. They will also be comfortable working with complex government entities and stakeholders in a respectful, collaborative manner. Along with knowledge of supply chain management principles, category management and procurement processes and best practices, they bring expertise in championing change for a new organizational culture and vision, promoting innovation enablement and collaboration.
