As a Product Manager at Supply Ontario, you will be responsible for setting product strategy and defining roadmaps for core digital products.
This position will be engaged strategically throughout the product lifecycle to define and drive product vision, definition, roadmap, develop activity and related customer lifecycle activity.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead product management for core products at Supply Ontario:
- Lead cross-functional teams, including technologists, design, vendors, and program areas to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. Define requirements, create user stories, and oversee the development process from concept to launch.
- Consult with clients to provide advice and help in defining product requirements and identifying solutions and deliverables suited to client needs, provide product development expertise and make presentations to product teams and senior management to discuss product strategies/project status, identify and recommend resolution of complex product design and development issues and gain approval for new approaches or opportunities for service/product development.
- Manage the product lifecycle from ideation to end-of-life. Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and iterate to continuously improve the product.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success. Analyze data to gain insights, track progress, and make data-driven decisions.
Support the Product practice at Supply Ontario:
- Dive deep, through user research and other techniques, to understand internal and external users and their problems, and champion those problems with product teams to craft and share a vision for how we can best solve these problems.
- Work with experience design and data experts to conduct user research, market research, and analysis to identify user needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape. Use insights to inform product decisions and prioritize features.
- Develop, foster and manage effective relationships and partnerships with clients, partners, and vendors, in and outside of Supply Ontario, to facilitate cooperative approaches to public and business service delivery.
- Educate stakeholders on digital and product design principles and values.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital product management.
- Experience developing a product vision and strategy, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve that vision from concept to launch using such methods as agile.
- Experience providing guidance in the areas of digital systems/products, data sources and the collection and context of data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, cross-functional teams and across business lines.
- An understanding of the digital marketplace, digital platforms, technology and market trends to identify product opportunities.
- Ability to use data to make decisions, gathering anonymous data insights by design to improve product outcomes.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with a broad range of technologies, including common internet protocols, web analytics, semantic markup, REST, and other foundational web technologies that underpin modern digital applications.
- Ability to embed privacy and security into product delivery processes and design.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG 2.0 AA.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to provide solutions that meet business area needs.
- Verbal and written communications to lead discussions and make presentations to business areas, succinctly define roadmaps, and communicate complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and other internal applications, as required
