Supply Ontario drives efficiency and resiliency through new integrated warehouse network

Ontario’s strategic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory is a core pillar of the province’s emergency readiness plan, protecting workers and families while keeping public services and the economy operating during supply chain disruptions.

To deliver on that mandate, Supply Ontario has modernized and integrated the agency’s warehousing network under a single, industry-leading third-party logistics model. Facilities in Innisfil, Milton, Markham, and Thunder Bay now operate as a coordinated system, centralizing inventory, accelerating distribution, and improving cost efficiencies for the delivery of PPE.

Ontario continues to lead in emergency preparedness, backed by a strong focus on domestic resilience. Supply Ontario manages approximately $176M in PPE and critical supplies including gloves, masks, gowns, respirators, hand sanitizer, and testing kits, available at no cost to public sector organizations. Through coordinated efforts with government partners, 98% of long-term PPE contracts are now fulfilled by Ontario-based manufacturers.

This integrated approach strengthens provincial readiness and ensures organizations across Ontario have reliable access to critical supplies when and where they need them.
