Supply Ontario is pleased to welcome Mike Power and Danny Hsiang to the agency’s executive leadership team.
As Chief Operating Officer, Mike will oversee business operations to streamline processes, implement best practices and optimize procurement operations, while aligning with government objectives and policies. As Chief Financial Officer, Danny will drive Supply Ontario’s strategic direction and priorities for financial services needs across the agency and related frameworks, programs, policies and services.
With a strong team in place, we are poised to continue accelerating our work to leverage public sector procurement to drive value creation and support economic development and innovation across the public sector. Over the past year, that has included:
- Amalgamating Supply Chain Ontario with Supply Ontario, which includes $5 billion in managed contracts. Since July 2023, Supply Ontario has assigned nearly 2,000 individual contracts, supported a surge of advisory services requests from government ministries, published requests for bids and awarded numerous vendor of record contracts.
- Developing robust category management strategies to manage a pipeline of 50 initiatives including computing devices, electric vehicles and electrification, renal and peritoneal dialysis care, fleet, and nutrition.
- Implementing initiatives in areas such as wound care, prescription and non-prescription pharma, hospital beds, ventilators, mobility and office supplies.
- Working with government to implement the Building Ontario Businesses Initiative (BOBI) to level the playing field for Ontario businesses in public sector procurement.
- Working with the vendor community, shared service and group purchasing organizations and clients across the broader public sector to modernize procurement. This includes reducing red tape and reviewing procurement barriers to make it easier for business to do business with the public sector in Ontario.
