That’s because our goal is to create a supply chain that is resilient and adaptable in the face of supply chain emergencies – and buying local is a big part of that! 

Resiliency, innovation and economic development are foundational parts of our mandate. Producing local and buying local not only ensures that Ontarians have access to resources and products when we need them, but it also creates direct and indirect employment opportunities during the construction and operation of new manufacturing production facilities in the province.  

Strengthening Ontario’s supply chain resilience ensures a prompt response to unforeseen events while enabling consistent and reliable access to critical supplies that buyers and taxpayers depend on. This also includes a focus on long term strategies for Ontario’s stockpile of PPE and other essential products.
