We’re pleased to share that improvements are on the way for our business travel program, under the Travel Management Company Services VOR Arrangement.
As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline travel processes, we will be transitioning to a new online travel booking platform in partnership with GB Travel Canada Inc. (GBT). Our current booking tool, GetThere, will be replaced with Neo Travel, GBT’s enhanced online booking solution.
This change will affect all ministries and agencies and is part of a broader initiative to enhance efficiency, increase policy compliance, and improve the traveler experience.
What to Expect
Benefits for Your Organization:
- Greater control over travel compliance and cost management
- Seamless access to negotiated rates, including GBT’s global air, hotel, and car rental discounts
- Dedicated account management and expert support
- Enhanced ability to track travelers in case of emergencies
Benefits for Travelers:
- 24/7 access to experienced travel counsellors
- An intuitive and modern booking experience
- Stored traveler preferences and loyalty programs
- Tracking of unused tickets
- Airfare and hotel re-shopping to ensure the best available rates
Preparing for the Transition
While the transition date has not yet been finalized, there are a few important details to keep in mind:
Traveler Profiles:
Profiles from the current system will not carry over to Neo Travel. Once the new platform is live, all travelers will need to create a new profile, including key details such as credit card information, TSA Secure Flight data, passport/visa information, and any travel preferences. This ensures a smoother booking experience and allows travel counsellors to assist more effectively.
Agency-Specific Instructions:
Each agency will receive a separate communication with specific instructions on how travelers can register and complete their profiles in the new booking tool.
Booking System Downtime:
As part of the transition process, there will be a brief period when online booking through the current system will not be available. Travelers will still be able to contact GBT directly for assistance during this time. More information will be shared as we approach the launch.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we move toward a more modern and efficient travel platform. These improvements are being made with your convenience, safety, and cost-effectiveness in mind.
Further communication will be provided in the near future.
