As a Decision Support Analyst, you will be accountable for conducting in-depth analysis of data to provide advice and interpretation for decision-making for an assigned supply chain category.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Determining how decision support systems and approach (methodological and technical) will provide information required to make effective business decisions.
- Translating requirements into applications that employ appropriate decision support and reporting tools.
- Applying knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing.
- Identifying key data elements needed to advance sourcing strategies and other initiatives in collaboration with the category management and supply chain operation teams.
- Preparing complex and specialized documentation, reports, dashboards, and statistical analysis on a regular or ad hoc basis to support decision making.
- Developing, codifying, and monitoring key performance indicators for measuring success of new and existing business and sourcing initiatives.
- Providing analytic and consultative support to a broad spectrum of internal and external business partners.
- Maintaining a broad understanding of the assigned category and utilizes that understanding to ensure decision support requirements are achieved.
- Supporting Supply Ontario’s customer service standards, enabling client success and business/continuous improvement activities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Degree in Computer/Information Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries for large-scale data environments.
- Proficient in building custom data processing logic using SQL and/or Python, including the development of user-defined functions and stored procedures.
- Advanced proficiency and experience working with at least one of the following business intelligence, analytics, and reporting tools: Power Bi, Python.
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL, Data Management, Cloud Environments.
- Knowledge of Scala/Spark and Agile Methodologies, ideally having worked in an Agile team setting.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques including both qualitative and quantitative analysis skills to critically review and analyze complex data and interpret results to identify implications.
- Ability to gather, manipulate and analyze high volumes of data from a variety of sources and formulate data into clear, actionable insights and user-friendly visualizations or KPIs
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VBA etc.).
- Ability to present and explain technical information and complex analysis to diverse types of audiences in an easily understood user-friendly manner geared to the target audience.
- Excellent consultation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage work to meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
