As the Payroll Specialist (Job ID #2025-017), you will be accountable for providing support and expertise in the provision of full cycle payroll, pension and benefits services and effective client focused service delivery to ensure quality outcomes and issue resolution to meet Supply Ontario’s payroll and benefits requirements.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Providing payroll, pension, and benefits administration throughout the payroll lifecycle from employee induction to termination/retirement.
  • Verifying, maintaining, and organizing all payroll, pension and benefits information and documentation.
  • Administering end-to-end payroll processes, including pay adjustments, terminations, ROEs, severance, and manual payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing pension and benefits administration, attendance tracking, and vacation entitlements, while preparing related reports and remittances.
  • Reconciling payroll and general ledger accounts, support financial reporting, and assist with year-end processes including T4s, T2200s, and regulatory filings.
  • Analyzing payroll data for consistency, compliance, and accuracy; respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues with sound judgment.
  • Contributing to system and policy improvements, support new implementations, and uphold high customer service standards aligned with business goals.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Degree or Community College diploma in a related field.
  • 4-5 years of full cycle payroll experience.
  • Completion of the Canadian Payroll Association Certification Program and/or designated or working towards Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of payroll plans, payroll systems/software, relevant tax regulations, procedures, and processes.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage confidential information, process biweekly payroll, and ensure compliance with payroll legislation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Build strong working relationships and deliver exceptional customer service across all levels of the organization.
  • Identify and resolve payroll-related issues through detailed analysis and corrective action.
  • Analyze and interpret payroll data to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).

The selected candidate will be required to reside and work in Ontario and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement; at the time of posting, this position would require in-office presence 3 days per week, based on current operational requirements.
