Supply Ontario is strengthening its role as the province’s central procurement authority, leveraging Ontario’s collective purchasing power to deliver greater value, increase efficiency and advance strategic priorities such as economic development and innovation.
Over the next three years, the agency will expand centralized procurement across the public sector, helping organizations access cost-effective contracts, while reducing duplication and administrative complexity. By managing more purchasing centrally, Supply Ontario can increase buying power, generate savings and allow public sector organizations to focus on serving Ontarians.
A key part of this work is expanding Supply Ontario’s Vendor of Record (VOR) Program and increasing the total value of procurement managed through centralized contracts. Through data, analytics and enhanced category management, Supply Ontario will identify opportunities to optimize procurement, improve decision-making and maximize value from public spending while creating opportunities for innovation and economic growth.
Supply Ontario is also building a more resilient and modern supply system by expanding the Ontario Strategic Inventory and strengthening its warehousing network. These enhancements will improve emergency preparedness, support business continuity and contribute to stronger domestic supply chains.
Building on its service to Ontario Public Service ministries, Supply Ontario is expanding procurement and advisory services to more public sector partners across health care, education and municipal government. This broader access to centralized procurement will provide expert support, stronger purchasing practices and better value across the public sector.
Through these efforts, Supply Ontario is creating a more coordinated, efficient and resilient procurement system—maximizing Ontario’s buying power, securing critical goods, and delivering savings across the public sector.
